Doha: Afghanistan are far from disheartened despite losing 6-0 to Qatar in their opening Asian Qualifiers Group E match on Thursday.
The Central Asian team's bid to advance to the next stage of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifying and sealing an early berth to the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 got off to a rocky start as Qatar showed just why they are the Asian champions.
Almoez Ali hit a hat-trick as Qatar produced a masterclass performance and Afghanistan head coach Anoush Dastgir admitted his side could not cope with the West Asians.

Doha: Almoez Ali bagged a hat-trick as 2019 AFC Asian Cup champions Qatar began their title defence journey with an emphatic 6-0 win over Afghanistan in Group E of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Asian Qualifiers on Thursday.
A huge crowd at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium greeted the Qatari players in their first home appearance since lifting the Continental trophy in the UAE back in February.
