Santiago: Japan kicked off their FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025 Group A campaign with a 2-0 win against Egypt on Saturday.

A Rion Ichihara penalty and a well-taken Hisatsugu Ishii strike steered Japan past Egypt in Santiago.

Valparaíso: Korea Republic suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ukraine in their opening FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025 Group B tie on Saturday.

Two goals in four first-half minutes were enough for Ukraine to see off the East Asian side in Valparaiso.
