Dubai: A four-team strong contingent will carry Asia’s hopes at the FIFA U20 World Cup Argentina 2023 as the continent dreams of bringing the trophy home for the first time.

Uzbekistan, Iraq, Japan and Korea Republic all booked their places in the upcoming tournament courtesy of their success at the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 back in March. The-AFC.com looks back at the path each of the four teams took to qualify.

Doha: There will be a fresh look to the Qatar squad for their CONCACAF Gold Cup challenge as Carlos Quieroz gets set for his first tournament as head coach.

The Portuguese, who replaced Felix Sanchez as head coach, has two major targets - Qatar's defence of their AFC Asian Cup™ title and qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 
 
Among those missing from the Qatar squad for the Gold Cup are Captain Hassan Al Haydos, Akram Afif, Karim Boudiaf, Pedro Miguel, Boualem Khoukhi, Abdulaziz Hatem and Saad Al Sheeb in Queiroz's bid to blood new players.

Melbourne City's Bos moves to Belgium's Westerlo

Sydney: Melbourne City left-back Jordan Bos has signed for Belgian Pro League team KVC Westerlo in what the A-League side said was a record fee received by an Australian club.

The move, pending a medical, caps a spectacular rise for Bos, who made his debut for City last season and won his first cap for Australia against Ecuador in March this year.

Indonesia beat Thailand to end long wait for Men's title, Vietnam win bronze

Phnom Penh: Indonesia defeated Thailand 5-2 in extra-time to win the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games Men's Football gold medal on Tuesday.

Thailand forced the final into an additional 30 minutes after drawing level at 2-2 deep into added time in a match which saw them reduced to eight players while Indonesia had one red card. 
 
Vietnam took the bronze after a 3-1 win over Myanmar in the playoff.
