Kuala Lumpur: Urawa Red Diamonds were crowned champions of Asia for the third time earlier this month as they defeated Al Hilal SFC 2-1 on aggregate in the final to bring the curtains down on yet another engrossing edition of the AFC Champions League™. 

After Japan's Urawa dethroned Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal to add to their 2007 and 2017 triumphs and become the second most successful club on the continent alongside Pohang Steelers, the-AFC.com looks back on some of the standout performers from the competition to find out the Best XI from the 2022 edition.

Europe Wrap: Kerr lifts FA Cup; Jahanbakhsh secures Eredivisie

Kuala Lumpur: Australia striker Sam Kerr scored for the third consecutive time in the Women’s FA Cup final to deliver Chelsea their third successive title in the competition as they defeated Manchester United 1-0 in front of a world record crowd for a women's domestic game in England on Sunday.  

Islamic Republic of Iran forward Alireza Jahanbakhsh helped Feyenoord to a 3-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles which secured a first Eredivisie title in five years for the Rotterdam side in the Netherlands while his international teammates Ehsan Hajsafi and Milad Mohammadi lifted the Super League title with AEK Athens in Greece.

Asian Qualifiers Round 2: Women’s Olympic contenders set to discover rivals

Kuala Lumpur: The stage is set for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 official draw ceremony, which will take place at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on May 18, 2023 at 11am local time.

The field has been whittled down to 12 teams, comprising the seven group winners from Round 1 of qualifying and the five highest-seeded teams, who received automatic byes into Round 2.

Vietnam defeat Myanmar for Women's gold, Thailand take bronze

Phnom Penh: Vietnam won their fourth consecutive SEA Games Women's Football gold medal after defeating Myanmar 2-0 in the Cambodia 2023 final on Monday. 

It is the eighth time Vietnam have emerged champions while Myanmar had to be satisfied with the silver medal for a fourth time.
 
Thailand, meanwhile, defeated Cambodia 6-0 in the bronze medal playoff.
