Antalya: If the devil is in the detail, then the Socceroos will be ready for anything at next month’s FIFA World Cup Russia 2018.
After another day of double sessions at their pre-FIFA World Cup training camp in Turkey, Socceroos attacker Andrew Nabbout has spoken about the influence Bert van Marwijk and his coaching staff are having on the squad.
It’s not just the training intensity that has impressed the players, but the attention to detail the Dutchman is imposing on the squad in every session.

Doha: It is such an indescribable feeling to win the 2018 Amir Cup at the Khalifa International Stadium, the venue of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The stadium is world class – smooth pitch, majestic stands, beautiful arch and incredibly efficient open-air cooling system because of which the temperature inside the stadium dropped by 20 degrees centigrade if not more.
Winning the final there in the presence of His Highness the Amir, the Honorable FIFA President and in front of 45,000 spectators is the stuff of any footballer’s dreams.
The icing on the cake was initiating the build-up play which culminated in my club Al Duhail’s winning goal.
Association with the FIFA World Cup is the ultimate goal for any footballer and I am no different.
Before the evening of May 19, 2018, my strongest connection with a FIFA World Cup was when my country hosted Asia’s first tournament when I was 10.
I remember celebrating with my friends when Park Ji-sung scored a great goal against Portugal’s golden generation which took Korea Republic to the Round of 16 as group winners.

Antalya: They say being there is everything, but it's not enough for Australia.
As the Socceroos continue their build-up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia next month, they're not content to just make up the numbers.
“We definitely want to keep implanting our impression in the world,” Melbourne Victory attacker James Troisi said after the squad completed a double session at Antalya's impressive Gloria Sports Arena in Turkey.
“We did that in Brazil and we want to do it again in Russia.
“We've taken small steps and obviously we're playing against some of the best players in the world.
“But every time we play these games, we want to stamp our flag in the world.”

Seoul: Gangwon FC striker Lee Keun-ho has been ruled out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia with a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee, the Korea Football Association (KFA) said on Tuesday.
Lee sustained the injury during a K League 1 game against Gyeongnam FC last Saturday.
Though Lee was stretchered off the field, his K League 1 club initially said the injury wasn't serious and he'd be able to compete in the FIFA World Cup. But further tests revealed more severe damage, and Lee has joined a few others on the Korea Republic injury list.
It's the latest injury blow to head coach Shin Tae-yong, who was already without Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors defender Kim Min-jae, who would have been a first-choice centre-back if not for a stress fracture in his right leg.
Also ruled out was Suwon Samsung Bluewings midfielder Yeom Ki-hun, a crafty playmaker who is nursing a broken rib. Kim and Yeom weren't picked for the 28-man provisional roster announced on May 14.

Antalya: The first of Australia's players have arrived in Antalya, Turkey as preparation officially commences ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.
With Bert van Marwijk and his staff getting their first training session under their belt, some big names included in the 26-man extended squad are still yet to arrive as they finish up their club commitments.
A total of 19 players have arrived in Antalya, while Josh Risdon, Mat Ryan, Matthew Jurman, Milos Degenek, Tom Rogic, and Mile Jedinak will make their way into camp shortly.
While Rogic helped Celtic lift the Scottish FA Cup over the weekend, skipper Mile Jedinak is another who can still help his club to glory when he will contest the English Championship play-off final for Aston Villa on Saturday.
Jedinak will be the final player to arrive into camp, with Huddersfield Town’s Aaron Mooy flying out from England overnight to join up with his teammates later on Monday.

Tokyo: New Japan coach Akira Nishino has flagged his 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia hopes by turning to his big hitters for the home friendly with Ghana on May 30.
Talismanic Japan forward Keisuke Honda and playmaker Shinji Kagawa were included by Nishino among a group of 27 players.
Nishino, who took over from Vahid Halilhodzic after the latter's firing last month, is scheduled to name his final 23-man World Cup squad on May 31.
"Of course I expect to pick the World Cup squad from these 27 players," Nishino said.
"Honda and Kagawa have been core players of the national team and I've called them up in the hope that they will be able to contribute."
