Leumeah: Chinese Taipei moved a step closer to their first-ever Olympic Games women’s football appearance with a 1-0 win over Thailand in the opening match in Group B of the AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament at Campbelltown Stadium on Monday.
Ting Chi’s strike midway through the first half gave Kazuo Echigo’s side a lead they never relinquished, well and truly keeping alive their hopes of advancing to next month’s final qualifying play-off as one the group’s top two sides.

Mandalay: Myanmar and Thailand’s respective preparations for the AFC Women’s Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament are complete after the Southeast Asian nations shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Mandalay’s Mandalar Thiri Stadium on Tuesday.
Nu Nu opened the scoring for Myanmar early in the match, before Thailand levelled the tie seven minutes after half time through Saowalak Pengngam.
The friendly clash was the second meeting between the sides in less than a week, with Thailand earning a 2-1 win in their earlier clash at the same venue on Saturday.
