Nonthaburi: The head coaches of Vietnam and Bangladesh lauded the performance of their respective sides as Vietnam eked out a 1-0 win against Bangladesh in Group A of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ on Tuesday.

The result saw Bangladesh, the only debutants in the competition, bow out while Vietnam’s knockout stage chances hang in the balance as they await Wednesday’s results from Groups B and C.

Nonthaburi: Vietnam defeated Bangladesh 1-0 in their final Group A of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ at the Nonthaburi Stadium on Tuesday.

With the win, Vietnam finished third in Group A but will have to wait for the remaining group stage matches to confirm a knockout stage spot as one of the best third-placed teams.

Nonthaburi: China PR moved into the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ knockout stage with a 2-0 win against Bangladesh in their Group A tie at the Nonthaburi Stadium on Saturday.

It was the 2006 champions second win and they will meet Thailand - who defeated Vietnam 4-1 in the later tie to also confirm qualification - to decide the top spot on Tuesday. Bangladesh, despite suffering consecutive losses, still have a chance of progressing but will have to beat Vietnam in their concluding match.
