Kuwait City: Head coach Ante Mise said his team's second half approach was the reason for Arabi SC’s 3-2 victory over Al Riffa in Group B of the AFC Cup™ 2022 on Wednesday.

Ali Hasan Isa and Jasim Al Shaikh gave Al Riffa a two-goal advantage before Arabi fought back with efforts from Ali Khalaf, Ablaye Mbengue and Badr Abdulrahman to seal a thrilling come from behind victory at the Kuwait Sports Club Stadium.

East Riffa proved themselves against Nejmeh, says Motroc

Muharraq: East Riffa head coach Florin Motroc was proud of players’ determination following their hard-earned 1-1 draw against Nejmeh SC of Lebanon in Group C of the AFC Cup™ 2022 on Wednesday.

After a tepid first half, Abdulah Mubarak put Nejmeh ahead from the penalty spot after the hour mark before a battling East Riffa clawed their way back into the game through Luiz Fernando's stunning curler.

The result leaves both sides with a point, with Nejmeh taking on Hilal Alquds in their Matchday Two fixture on Saturday, while East Riffa will face Tishreen of Syria.

Group C: East Riffa fight back to hold Nejmeh SC

Muharraq: Bahrain’s East Riffa came from behind to hold Nejmeh SC of Lebanon 1-1 in Group C of the AFC Cup™ 2022 on Wednesday.

Abdulah Mubarak opened Nejmeh’s account with a second half spot-kick but East Riffa clawed their way back with Luiz Fernando netting the equaliser to salvage a draw at the Muharraq Stadium.

Group B: Arabi see off Al Riffa in thriller

Kuwait City: Al Arabi came from behind to defeat Al Riffa 3-2 in their AFC Cup™ 2022 opener in Group B of the competition at the Kuwait SC Stadium on Wednesday.

The Kuwait City-based club managed to come back from two goals down to win 3-2 thanks to some exceptional individual skill that culminated in an explosive winning goal towards the end of the match, which was their first in the competition in 13 seasons.

Muscat: AFC Cup™ 2022 Group A hosts Al Seeb Club are looking to carry their Oman Pro League title-winning form into the continental front as they look to start their campaign against fellow debutants Jableh SC of Syria on Wednesday.

Having never won the domestic league, Al Seeb made it back-to-back titles last week, before turning their attention to the AFC Cup in which their debut was delayed by a year, having been forced to withdraw from the 2021 edition due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in place in Oman at the time.

Joining the pair in Group A are three-time champions Kuwait SC and Lebanese powerhouse Al Ansar.

Sousa names training squad as Bahrain kick off preparations for Qualifiers

Manama: Head coach Helio Sousa has called up 23 players as Bahrain enter their final phase of preparations for the final round of the AFC Asian Cup China 2023™ Qualifiers.

West quartet advance to AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022™ Finals

Fujairah: Lebanon played to a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia, while Palestine and Oman also shared the spoils in their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022™ Qualifiers on Wednesday.

The draw was enough for Lebanon to secure top spot in Group A and qualify for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022™ Finals after finishing with seven points, two ahead of second-placed Saudi Arabia, who are also through to Kuwait 2022.

Iraq and Bahrain settled for a 1-1 draw as both teams finished level on four points to advance to the Finals with UAE finishing bottom.
