Baghdad: Iraq’s Al Zawraa SC fought back to defeat Al Wasl FC of the United Arab Emirates 3-2 in their AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™ Round of 16 first leg tie on Tuesday.

Brayan Riascos starred with a second half brace to give Al Zawraa a lead to defend in next week’s return leg with Husam Fawzi’s side chasing a first quarter-final appearance.

Fergana: Moamen Soliman heaped praise on his Al Shorta side after they fought back to hold PFC Nasaf to a 1-1 draw in their AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ match at Istiqlol Stadium on Monday.

The Egyptian saw his charges overcome tiredness from a gruelling journey with his planned half-time triple change with the introduction of Abdoul Magid Boubacar, Shareef Kadhim and Bassam Shakir worked in favour of his Iraqi outfit.

Fergana: Iraq’s Al Shorta came from behind to force a 1-1 stalemate with PFC Nasaf in their AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ tie at the Istiklol Stadium on Monday.

The result, however, meant the Iraqi side joined Nasaf in being eliminated from the competition.

Nasaf, who had already been eliminated prior to the match, collected their first point after having suffered defeats in their earlier six games.

Jakarta: Head coach Joao Carlos and Salim Kadhim expressed a feeling of achievement after Iraq gave defending champions Islamic Republic of Iran a scare before bowing out of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ on Thursday.

Iraq took the lead twice in their semi-final against the 13-time champions but eventually had to relent to the might of Iran with Carlos attributing their performance to good game management.

S-final: IR Iran fight back to beat Iraq

Jakarta: Islamic Republic of Iran will defend their title after they twice came from behind to defeat Iraq 4-2 in their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ semi-final on Thursday.

The Central Asian side - who will be playing in the final for the 16th time - will meet Indonesia on Saturday in their bid for a 14th title.

Azimi, Faisal determined to show their best

Jakarta: Behrooz Azimi and Salim Faisal are equally determined to help Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq reach their ultimate target at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™.

Both teams came through their quarter-final ties with flying colours, beating Uzbekistan 7-4 and Thailand 4-2 respectively but something will have to give with a spot in the final at stake.

Jakarta: Islamic Republic of Iran will take nothing for granted when they face Iraq in the semi-finals of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ on Thursday.
