Doha: Al Nassr Club registered their eighth consecutive victory as they remained in charge of the Saudi Pro League.

Al Gharafa SC stayed equally hot in the Qatar Stars League, sitting top with a four-point advantage while there was also action in Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon and Oman.

Oman FA’s efforts to raise football standards lauded by Shaikh Salman

Muscat: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa held several high-level discussions with the Oman leadership during his visit to the Sultanate, which concluded on Tuesday.

Shaikh Salman, who congratulated OFA President Al-Sayyid Sulaiman on being successfully elected as Chairman of the OFA Board of Directors for the 2025–2029 term in June this year, praised the Sultanate’s whole-of-government approach towards driving football development, underlined by the consistent form of its teams and players on the Continental stage.

Doha: Cristiano Ronaldo starred with a brace as Al Nassr Club maintained their grip on the Saudi Pro League title race.

Al Gharafa SC continue to lead in Qatar while Al Ain SC remained hot in the United Arab Emirates.

Sulaibikhat: Al Ansar FC booked their place in the AFC Challenge League™ 2025/26 quarter-finals after coming from behind to defeat Oman's Al Seeb Club 2-1 in their Group B tie on Friday.

The win vaulted Al Ansar to six points with the Lebanon side finishing second behind Kuwait SC, who defeated Bashundhara Kings of Bangladesh 2-0 in the later match.

Al Ansar advanced as the best second-placed team across the three West Zone groups and will play Group C winners FC Muras United of Kyrgyz Republic in the quarter-finals.

Altyn Asyr Zafar Babajanow’s first-half goal at the Changlimithang Stadium was cancelled out by Kenean Maleko and Hatem Al Rushadi’s brace, with Al Shabab to meet Group B winners Kuwait SC in the quarter-finals.

Sulaibikhat: Kuwait SC and Al Seeb Club settled for a 1-1 stalemate in their AFC Challenge League™ 2025/26 Group B tie on Tuesday.

The result means the chase for the automatic qualifying spot from the group remains wide open with Kuwait SC and Al Seeb on four points and Lebanon’s Al Ansar FC one adrift.

Thimphu: Al Shabab Club came from behind to beat FC Abdysh-Ata 2-1 in a thrilling AFC Challenge League™ 2025/26 Group A tie at the Changlimithang Stadium on Tuesday.

Artem Bilyi’s first-half goal was cancelled out by Majid Al Saadi before Mohamed Al Ghafri gave his side maximum points and put them a step closer to the quarter-finals.

The Kyrgyz Republic side, who lost their opener to Altyn Asyr, will only have pride to play for when they close their campaign against Bhutan’s Paro FC on Friday.

Sulaibikhat: Oman’s Al Seeb Club secured a thrilling 3-2 win against Bashundhara Kings of Bangladesh in their AFC Challenge League™ 2025/26 Group B tie on Saturday.

The AFC Cup™ 2022 champions were given a testing time by Bashundhara before Abdulaziz Almaqbali’s winner settled the contest.

Doha: Cosmin Olaroiu was proud of the resilience shown by the United Arab Emirates in the 2-1 win against Oman in Group A of the AFC Asian Qualifiers™ - Road to 26 Playoffs on Saturday.

Trailing to Kouame Kouadio's first half own goal, UAE turned on the power in the closing minutes of the tie to turn the match around, with Marcus Meloni and Caio Lucas scoring to keep their hopes of a second FIFA World Cup Finals appearance alive.
