Kuala Lumpur: When it came to scoring goals during last season’s AFC Champions League, nobody shone quite as brightly as Al Hilal SFC favourite Bafétimbi Gomis.

Known for his predatory instincts and unique goal celebration, Gomis found the net 11 times for his club as the Saudi giants reigned supreme.

Gomis extends stay at Al Hilal

Riyadh: 2019 AFC Champions League winners Al Hilal have announced that they have extended the contract of French forward Bafétimbi Gomis for two more years.

The 34-year-old striker had been influential in Al Hilal's 2019 AFC Champions League title victory, winning the MOst Valuable Player and Top Scorer awards with 11 goals.

West Asia Wrap: Leaders Al Duhail held in QSL return

Doha: Al Duhail dropped points in the race for the Qatar Stars League title after being held to a 1-1 draw by Umm Salal on Saturday.

Leaders Al Duhail, who went into the tie just a point ahead of Al Rayyan, took the lead through Qatar international forward Almoez Ali's spotkick in the 49th minute.

Umm Salal, however, equalised through Ayyoub Azzi in the 52nd minute as Al Sadd moved to 43 points with four matches remaining.
