AFC Technical Committee enhances coaching standards

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Technical Committee underlined its commitment to raise the technical standards of the Continent’s coaches after it approved several enhancements and new requirements at its fifth meeting held virtually today.

In preparation of the launch of the AFC Women’s Champions League in 2024, the Committee, led by Chairperson Kohzo Tashima, acknowledged the importance of establishing a progressive minimum coaching requirement for key coaching positions of participating clubs.

AFC Referee Academy resumes Onsite Modules after two-year break

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Referee Academy this week resumed its first Onsite Modules since the height of COVID-19 in February 2020 by welcoming 44 participants to a five-day course geared towards producing Asian referees of world-class calibre.

Batch 4, from October 11 to 15, comprises men and women referees who will undergo hands-on training and mentoring on a range of technical topics and attend practical sessions that test their mental health, speed, agility, strength, conditioning, and active recovery.
