8th AFC Medical Conference set to kick off in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur: More than 700 medical professionals will convene in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as the AFC Medical Conference returns to the home of Asian football on Wednesday.

Supported by FIFA and the AFC Medical Centre of Excellence, Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, the eighth iteration of the landmark conference will take place from July 21 to 25.

Attended by representatives from 40 Member Associations (MAs), the webinar primarily aimed to familiarise participants with the newly introduced AFC Anti-Doping Activities and Monitoring System, designed to streamline and standardise anti-doping practices across Asia.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has congratulated FIFA President Gianni Infantino on the successful conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which was staged for the first time in an expanded 32-team format across 12 cities in the United States.

The month-long tournament, which concluded on Sunday, drew nearly 2.5 million spectators, delivered 63 matches, 195 goals, and an average attendance of over 40,000 per game — underscoring its growing stature as a premier global club competition. Chelsea FC defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 at the Metlife Stadium to lift the brand-new trophy.

Kuala Lumpur: The latest instalment of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s Knowledge Sharing Programme commenced on Monday, further reinforcing the Confederation’s commitment to maximising the potential of its Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs).

Taking place from July 14 to 30, the 15th edition of the landmark initiative features a candidate from the Jordan Football Association (JFA), who will be assigned to the AFC Competitions and Football Events Division (CFED).
