The Conference, which concludes on November 1, brings together the Confederation’s MA and RA Presidents and their General Secretaries on a single platform dedicated to cultivating the highest professional and governance standards.

Afif: I want to be AFC Player of the Year for the third time

Seoul: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) crowned Qatar’s Akram Afif as its latest AFC Player of the Year on Tuesday night at the AFC Annual Awards Seoul 2023 amid a glittering ceremony at the Grand Peace Palace of the Kyung Hee University.

The 27-year-old forward capped a magnificent 2023/24 season, leading Qatar to a successful AFC Asian Cup™ defence as well as Al Sadd SC to a domestic double, which saw him beat Jordan’s Yazan Al Naimat and Korea Republic’s Seol Young-woo to the prestigious accolade.

Afif and Seike feted as Asia’s best at dazzling AFC Annual Awards

Seoul: Qatar icon Akram Afif and Japan star Kiko Seike were crowned the AFC Player of the Year in the men’s and women’s categories respectively on a starry Tuesday night at the AFC Annual Awards Seoul 2023 in Korea Republic.

The duo took home the biggest prizes at the 28th edition of the ceremony, held at the magnificent Grand Peace Palace of the Kyung Hee University, which also saw 19 other awards handed out as the best of Asia were honoured.

Seoul: Qatari maestro Akram Afif was recognised for a stunning 2023/24 season with the AFC Player of the Year accolade on Tuesday night at the AFC Annual Awards Seoul 2023.

The 27-year-old became the first Qatari to win the award twice as he collected the gleaming trophy at the 28th edition of the ceremony, which was staged at the Grand Peace Palace of the Kyung Hee University in Seoul.

Seoul: A breakthrough 2023/24 campaign for Kiko Seike was topped with the most prestigious accolade of the AFC Annual Awards Seoul 2023 on Tuesday as she was crowned the AFC Women’s Player of the Year.

The 28-year-old became the fifth Japanese winner of the prize at the Grand Peace Hall in Kyung Hee University, following in the footsteps of Homare Sawa, (2004, 2008), Natsuko Hara (2005), Aya Miyama (2011, 2012, 2015) and Saki Kumagai (2019).
