First edition of breakthrough AFC Empowering Women in Football Programme kicks off

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today marked a significant step in elevating the influence of women in football as the inaugural iteration of the AFC Empowering Women in Football Programme (AEWFP) got underway.

A fully online educational initiative from the AFC’s Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE), the AEWFP explores the diverse roles that women play in shaping the industry and reinforces the AFC’s steadfast commitment to their advancement.

Third edition of AFC Certificate in Football Leadership continues quest to propel Asian football

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today launched the third edition of its landmark AFC Certificate in Football Leadership (ACFL), an online initiative that aims to further advance the abilities of Asian football’s emerging and established leaders.

This follows the success of its predecessors, both of which were well received by decision-makers in the AFC’s Member Associations (MAs), Regional Associations (RAs) and diverse football stakeholders.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s landmark Knowledge Sharing Programme welcomed its 11th batch on Monday.

The second instalment of the year will see a participant representing the Bhutan Football Federation (BFF) receive hands-on training from industry experts from March 10 to 28 while a representative from the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) will join the programme the following week.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s resolute commitment towards advancing the pivotal role of women in football was reinforced today with the launch of the AFC Empowering Women in Football Programme (AEWFP), a pioneering online initiative that focuses on the diverse roles women play in shaping the football industry both on and off the pitch.

The six-month programme will equip participants with fundamental knowledge and skills to help them understand the global football ecosystem, promote gender equity and inclusion as well as identify and overcome industry barriers through ethical, strategic and diplomatic practices.

Taking place from January 2 - 28, the first instalment of the year will comprise representatives from the United Arab Emirates Football Association (UAE FA) and the Oman Football Association (OFA), who will be assigned to the Confederation’s Member Association (MA) Division.
