Buriram: Buriram United returned to winning ways in the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 on Tuesday as Mark Jackson’s side handed Chinese Super League champions Shanghai Port a 2-0 defeat at Buriram Stadium to climb up the East Zone standings.

Supachai Chaided gave the Thai League 1 title holders the lead in the 15th minute and Curtis Good made the points safe 20 minutes after the interval as the hosts bounced back from their agonisingly late loss against Melbourne City on Matchday Three.

The result moves Buriram United into fifth place on six points as the league phase reaches the midway point while Shanghai Port’s hopes of claiming a berth in the next phase suffered another blow with Kevin Muscat’s side rooted to the bottom on a solitary point.

Machida: Substitute Andrew Nabbout scored deep into injury time to earn Melbourne City a 2-1 win over Machida Zelvia in the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 on Tuesday after goalkeeper Patrick Beach put on a masterclass between the posts to keep the J1 League outfit at bay.

Nabbout’s 94th minute strike crashed against the crossbar before bouncing down inches over the line to give City a second consecutive last-gasp win after a late victory over Buriram United in the previous round of matches.

 

Gen Shoji had handed the Australians the lead with an own goal barely 30 seconds into the game before Henry Mochizuki levelled in the 24th minute to leave Beach to put on a virtuoso performance between the posts to keep his team in the contest before Nabbout’s winner.

 

The result moves Melbourne City onto six points from four matches and a point clear of Machida, who remain on five points as the league phase reaches the midway point.
