Chuncheon: A superior first-half display by FC Machida Zelvia earned them a 3-1 win over Gangwon FC in their AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 clash at the Chuncheon Songam Sports Town Stadium on Tuesday.

Machida’s three goals in a 15-minute spell prevented a spirited second half fightback from the Korea Republic side.

The Japanese side, who lifted the Emperor's Cup last Saturday, are now on eight points from five starts while Gangwon’s second consecutive defeat leaves them on six.

Shanghai: Jesse Lingard struck twice as FC Seoul handed Shanghai Port FC a 3-1 defeat at Pudong Football Stadium on Tuesday to boost the K League side’s hopes of a place in the next stage of the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26.

The former Manchester United attacker gave his side the lead in the 48th minute and set up Lucas Silva to restore FC Seoul’s advantage in the 61st minute after Mateus Vital had levelled for the Chinese Super League champions.

Lingard put the seal on the win with 13 minutes remaining to take FC Seoul onto eight points from their opening five games in the East Zone while Shanghai Port remain rooted to the bottom on a solitary point.
