Vickery revels in Macarthur win; Polking’s tinkering does the trick for Cong An Ha Noi

Sydney: Luke Vickery was thrilled to have stolen the spotlight at Campbelltown Stadium, scoring a brace to secure a thrilling 2-1 victory over Tai Po FC to ensure Macarthur FC’s progression to the AFC Champions League Two™ 2025/26 Knockout Stages on Thursday.

The 20-year-old came off the bench, levelled the score in the 50th minute and netted again 20 minutes later from inside the box to seal Macarthur’s come-from-behind-win.

The result puts Cong An Ha Noi on eight points, three ahead of Beijing FC with Macarthur FC of Australia on 10.

Sydney: Australia’s Macarthur FC booked a place in the last 16 of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2025/26 on Thursday with a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Hong Kong Premier League champions Tai Po FC in Group E at Campbelltown Stadium.

Substitute Luke Vickery scored in the 50th and 70th minutes to seal the victory for Mile Sterjovski’s side after Igor Sartori had given the visitors a 24th minute lead with a deflected strike.
 
The result moves Macarthur onto 10 points from five matches and ensures they will finish in the top two positions in the standings while Tai Po remain bottom of the table on four points with one game left.
