Song proud to have delivered for Suwon; Kusunose pleased with Tokyo Verdy’s fast start

Yangon: Song Ji-yoon was delighted to have come off from the bench to deliver a sparkling performance to steer Suwon FC Women to a 5-0 win over ISPE WFC in their AFC Women’s Champions League 2025/26 Group C opener on Sunday.

Introduced in the 52nd minute to replace the injured Yoon Su-jeon, Song made an immediate impact, scoring twice to help the Korea Republic into pole position, ahead of Japan's Tokyo Verdy Beleza on goal difference.

Moka Hiwatari led the way with a second half brace to put Tokyo Verdy on the perfect footing for their next game against Myanmar’s ISPE WFC on Wednesday.

Bangkok: The 12 contenders aiming to lift the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup™ Thailand 2026 crown learnt their Group Stage opponents following the Official Draw in Bangkok on Monday.

The teams were divided into three groups for the tournament which will take place between April 1 and 18, 2026.
