Melbourne: Melbourne City head coach Michael Matricciani was full of praise for his team’s disciplined performance after their 3-0 victory over Taichung Blue Whale Women's Football Team in the AFC Women's Champions League™ 2024/25 quarter-finals on Sunday.

Melbourne City’s dominance was evident from the start with Mariana Speckmaier netting the opener before an own goal from Li Pei-Jung put the Australian side two goals up with Holly McNamara securing the points in the second half from the penalty spot.

Kuala Lumpur: The semi-final cast for the inaugural AFC Women's Champions League 2024/25 was decided on Sunday with Melbourne City FC and Wuhan Jiangda Women's FC booking their spots.

The single leg semi-finals and final will be played in a centralised venue on May 21-24 with the four teams not only vying for continental glory but also for the sole ticket to the inaugural FIFA Women's Champions Cup in early 2026.

Incheon: New Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women's FC recruit Kim Myeong-jin made an instant impact on her debut, delivering a match-winning performance to secure her team a 1-0 victory over the Islamic Republic of Iran’s BAM Khatoon in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 quarter-final on Saturday.

Kim, who was introduced as a 46th-minute substitute, repaid head coach Hur Jung-jae’s trust with a stunning strike in the 81st minute, sealing the win and booking Red Angels' place in the semi-finals, with Australia's Melbourne City FC their next opponents.
