Tokyo Verdy’s Muramatsu eyeing perfect finish; Pak pleased with Naegohyang’s revival

Yangon: Captain Tomoko Muramatsu praised Tokyo Verdy Beleza’s determination after the Japanese side edged ISPE WFC 1-0 to record their second consecutive victory in Group C of the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 on Wednesday.

Danelle Tan’s sublime first half strike settled the tie with ISPE unable to counter Tokyo Verdy’s aggression as they fell to a second defeat.

The win left Tokyo Verdy three points clear at the top, ahead of Naegohyang Women’s FC of DPR Korea and Korea Republic’s Suwon FC Women.

Yangon: Naegohyang Women’s FC bounced back into contention for a place in the quarter-finals after defeating Suwon FC Women 3-0 in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 Group C tie on Wednesday.

Ri Yu Il’s side cast aside Sunday’s disappointing 4-0 loss to Tokyo Verdy Beleza to move up to second in the group behind the Japanese side.

Naegohyang can seal their last eight spot with a win against Myanmar’s ISPE WFC on Saturday while Suwon will need victory against Tokyo Verdy with the top two teams to advance automatically.
