Qualifiers - Group G: Japan 4-0 Yemen; Cambodia 0-5 Kuwait

Phnom Penh: Japan put on another masterful display to beat Yemen 4-0 in Group G of the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers on Sunday and book their place in next year’s Finals.

The 2016 champions closed their campaign with a maximum nine points, netting 16 goals and conceding none while in the later match, Kuwait breezed past Cambodia 5-0 to chalk up their first three points and finish in second ahead of Yemen and the Southeast Asian side on goal difference.

Phnom Penh: Japan placed themselves in pole position in Group G of the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers with an 8-0 win against Cambodia on Thursday.

With two wins, Japan only have to avoid defeat against Yemen on Sunday to confirm their ticket to the Finals.

Yemen revived their hopes with a 3-1 win against Kuwait in the earlier match.

Uzbekistan 2027 hopefuls discover qualification path

Kuala Lumpur: Teams aiming to vie for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027™ title discovered their Qualifiers challenge following the Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The 35 teams were divided into seven groups of five to contest a single round-robin centralised league for the qualifying rounds that run from November 8 to 20, 2026.

The seven group winners will join the nine AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 who have automatically qualified - Australia, China PR, Japan (defending champions), Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam - in the Finals.
