Kerr returns as Australia edge Wales

Kuala Lumpur: Sam Kerr played for an hour in Australia's 2-1 win over Wales in an international friendly in Cardiff on Saturday.

The talismanic Kerr had not played for Australia for almost two years following an ACL injury.

While the Chelsea star did not get on the scoresheet, she showed glimpses of her quality and will be a welcome addition to the Matildas' push for the AFC Women's Asian Australia 2026™ next March.

Sale: Japan found a last-gasp goal to force a 1-1 stalemate with Paraguay in their concluding FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2025 Group F tie on Saturday.

The result saw Japan top the group on seven points, ahead of Paraguay on goal difference, with the former champions to meet Colombia in the Round of 16 on Wednesday.

Kenean Maleko’s first-half penalty at Changlimithang Stadium gave the Oman side the  three points as they made their debut in the group stage of an AFC competition.

Sulaibikhat: Kuwait SC came from behind to defeat Al Ansar FC 3-2 in their AFC Challenge League™ 2025/26 Group B opener on Saturday.

Ahmad Al Dhefiri cancelled out Hichem Khalfallah ’s opening effort, before goals from Mohammad Daham and Yousef Al Sulaiman put Nebojsa Jovovic’s Kuwait SC ahead. Mohamad Hebous pulled one back but Kuwait SC held on for the points.

Bishkek: Al Arabi SC overturned a two-goal deficit to hold Safa SC to a 2-2 draw in their AFC Challenge League™ 2025/26 Group C opener on Saturday.

Lebanon’s Safa scored twice late in the first half but a red card to Abbas Assi saw momentum swing the other way as Kuwait’s Al Arabi pulled level before also finishing the game with 10 men following Nabil Marmouk’s sending off.
