Bunyodkor lift Super Cup as women’s game returns in Uzbekistan
Zomin: FC Bunyodkor made a triumphant return to competitive action, kicking off Uzbekistan’s women’s football calendar with a 4-1 Super Cup victory over FC Sevinch on Monday.
Uzbekistan national team star Lyudmila Karachik netted a double, with Umina Zoirova and Mahliyo Sarikova also getting on the scoresheet to help Bunyodkor repeat their win from last year’s Uzbekistan Cup final.
Bunyodkor also won the 2019 Super Cup, beating Sevinch 1-0 on that occasion.
Former Colombia, Costa Rica boss Pinto to coach UAE
Dubai: Jorge Luis Pinto, best known for leading Costa Rica to the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals, is set to take over the United Arab Emirates national team, it was announced on Monday.
The 67-year-old Colombian will sign a two-year deal which would lead up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Finals, local media reported after the United Arab Emirates Football Association said the deal had been given a green light.
