Beijing: China PR international strike Wu Lei has signalled his desire to remain with Espanyol despite the club’s relegation to the second tier of Spanish football at the end of the just-concluded La Liga season.
Wu, who moved to Spain from Shanghai SIPG in early 2019, admitted in an interview with Chinese state media he had been approached by clubs elsewhere in Europe but that he wanted to remain with the Barcelona-based team.

Kuala Lumpur: Clubs from Uzbekistan have featured in each AFC Champions League since the tournament launched in 2002-03, with a number of the Central Asian country's finest players having left their mark on the Continental competition.
An Uzbek side may have yet to win the AFC Champions League but the likes of Pakhtakor, Bunyodkor and Lokomotiv have impressed over the years, having all gone deep into the tournament while featuring a host of standout performers – many of whom have also starred for clubs outside their homeland.

Dhaka: It is fair to say Sabina Khatun has developed through the years alongside the Bangladesh women's national team programme as a whole.
A decade back, she received her first call-up when the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) organised the country's first women's national team. Ten years on, Khatun, at 26, is the captain. With 19 goals from 37 international appearances, she is an icon of the women's game in the country and one of the most accomplished players.

Bishkek: Edgar Bernhardt will play club football in the Kyrgyz Republic for the first time in his career, after being confirmed as an FC Dordoi player early on Saturday morning.
The 34-year-old Kyrgyz Republic national team star joins the defending league champions until the end of the season after departing Bangladeshi outfit Abahani Limited Dhaka.
