Group D: Saudi Arabia end journey in resounding fashion

Jakarta: Saudi Arabia overpowered Malaysia 6-1 in their final Group D of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ on Sunday.

The result gave Andreu Plaza’s side their first win while Malaysia finished bottom of the group after three defeats.

Group D: IR Iran see off spirited Afghanistan to finish top

Jakarta: Islamic Republic of Iran survived a fightback from Afghanistan to top Group D of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ with a 5-2 win on Sunday.

The defending champions - who finished with nine points - will face Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals while Afghanistan will play Japan.

Group C: Stalemate dashes Tajikistan’s hopes

Jakarta: Tajikistan’s dreams of reaching the knockout stage were shattered after they were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Australia in their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ Group C match on Sunday.

The draw meant that Tajikistan finished on two points, two adrift of Central Asian rivals Uzbekistan, who were beaten 2-1 by Japan in the other tie.

Group C: Japan fight back to beat Uzbekistan

Jakarta: Japan roared in the second half to defeat Uzbekistan 2-1 to top Group C of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ on Sunday.

The four-time champions will play either Afghanistan or Islamic Republic of Iran from Group D in the quarter-finals.

Defeat for Uzbekistan did not come at a cost as they advanced as the runners-up with the Group D winners their last eight opponents.
