Ismoilov hails Uzbekistan’s indomitable spirit

Taif: Head coach Islombek Ismoilov was moved to tears after his Uzbekistan side braved adversity to emerge as the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 champions on Sunday.

The 32-year-old could not hold back his emotions after seeing an inspired second half performance with goals from Muhammad Khakimov and Sadriddin Khasanov overcoming the loss of Nurbek Sarsenbaev and Miraziz Abdukarimov to red cards in the first half.

Khasanov proud of Uzbekistan’s incredible determination

Taif: Sadriddin Khasanov paid tribute to the Uzbekistan coaching staff and his teammates after they lifted the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 trophy following a 2-0 win against Saudi Arabia in the final on Sunday.

Khasanov and his compatriots had to dig deep after going down to nine men but the forward scored a wonder goal in the 69th minute to cap an incredible tournament for the entire Uzbekistan team.

Kuala Lumpur: Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President has congratulated Uzbekistan on securing their second title after the Central Asians defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0 to clinch the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 crown at the King Fahd Sports City Stadium in Taif on Sunday.

Muhammad Khakimov’s conversion from the penalty spot in the 51st minute and a fine effort by the tournament’s Most Valuable Player Sadriddin Khasanov 19 minutes later led the visitors, who were reduced to nine men in the first half, to the coveted title for only the second time in history, having emerged champions in 2012.
