Viet Tri: Yemen came out on top in a five-goal thriller against Kyrgyz Republic on Friday to put themselves on the cusp of advancing to the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 Finals.

Vietnam revived their hopes after defeating Myanmar 2-0 in the other fixture.

Kuala Lumpur: DPR Korea and the Philippines were the big winners on Matchday One of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 Qualifiers on Saturday.

The big victories propelled both sides to the top of their respective groups as the journey to reach the Finals began in earnest.

The hopefuls have been split into 10 groups – six of four, one of three and three of five – to battle in a centralised league format, which runs until October 27.

All group winners, along with the five best-placed runners-up, will progress to the 20th edition of the Finals, with two-time winners Saudi Arabia (1985, 1988) automatically qualifying as they host the tournament for the second time after 1992.

Singapore: Oman and Tajikistan set up a final day showdown after winning their respective matches in Group J of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ China 2025 Qualifiers on Friday. 

Oman beat Guam 18-0 while Tajikistan defeated hosts Singapore 3-1, with both teams on six points but the Central Asian side leading the standings on goal difference.

Phnom Penh: Afghanistan defeated Cambodia 3-1 on Friday to move within touching distance of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025.

The win took Afghanistan to nine points in Group B of the Qualifiers, with the Central Asian side only needing a draw against Bangladesh -who defeated Macau 7-0 - when the two sides meet on Sunday.

Chonburi: India and Thailand will face off on Sunday to decide the winners of Group D of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 Qualifiers after both registered their second wins on Friday.

India edged Turkmenistan 1-0 while Thailand cruised 19-0 past Brunei Darussalam with the Southeast Asian side top of the standings on goal difference.

Manila: Eastern of Hong Kong secured their first win in Group E of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 after edging Philippines’ Kaya FC-Iloilo 2-1 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Friday.

Kaya’s Kaishu Yamazaki cancelled out Marcos Gondra’s opener, before Noah Baffoe struck from distance to earn Eastern all three points.
