Albaadani savours Yemen progress

Pathum Thani: Head coach Mohammed Hasan Ali Albaadani was delighted with Yemen's 2-1 victory over Laos on Sunday, which sealed qualification for the quarter-finals of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023.

The West Asians had to dig deep to secure their second straight triumph in Group B at the Thammasat Stadium, with their opponents determined to bounce back after their opening-day defeat at the hands of Thailand.

Pathum Thani: Yemen booked their place in the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 quarter-finals after edging Laos 2-1 on Sunday for their second win on the trot.

The West Asian side's passage to the knockout stage - for just the second time in the tournament's history - was confirmed after Thailand defeated Malaysia 3-0 in the group's late match, with the two teams to face off on Wednesday to decide the group winners.
