Bell pleased with ‘well-deserved’ China PR win

Thammasat: Thani: Head coach Colin Bell believes China PR saved their best for last after a 1-0 win over Thailand in their concluding Group A tie at the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ on Tuesday.

A 29th minute goal by Xiao Yafei from 20 yards out made all the difference as the 2006 champions closed their group stage campaign with a perfect three-match run.

Up next for China PR in the quarter-finals are the third-placed side from either Group B or C while Thailand will face the Group B winners.

Nonthaburi: The head coaches of Vietnam and Bangladesh lauded the performance of their respective sides as Vietnam eked out a 1-0 win against Bangladesh in Group A of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ on Tuesday.

The result saw Bangladesh, the only debutants in the competition, bow out while Vietnam’s knockout stage chances hang in the balance as they await Wednesday’s results from Groups B and C.

Thammasat: China PR edged Thailand 1-0 to close their AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ Group A campaign with maximum points at Thammasat Stadium on Tuesday.

With both sides already qualifying for the knockout stage coming into the match, the result sees the 2006 champions set up a quarter-final meeting with the best third-placed team from either Group B or C on Saturday. Thailand will face the Group B winners the following day.
