Thammasat: Thailand’s win over Vietnam in Saturday’s Group A tie ensured their place in the knockout stage of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup™ for only the second time in history.

Thailand had to come from behind to defeat Bangladesh 3-2 in their opening match, before emerging 4-1 victors against Vietnam, with much of the success the hosts have enjoyed so far owed to captain Rinayaphat Moondong, who has scored thrice in the two matches.

Thammasat: Thailand head coach Nuengrutai Srathongvian expressed delight after her side sealed their place in the quarter-finals of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ with a 4-1 win over Vietnam in Group B on Saturday.

The hosts went into the half-time break with a 3-0 lead and showed no signs of slowing down after the restart in a display which, according to Nuengrutai, summed up the spirit of her squad.

Nonthaburi: Head coach Colin Bell credited China PR’s second-half turnaround for the 2-0 win over Bangladesh in their AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ clash on Saturday.

The 2006 champions wasted numerous chances in the Group A encounter before tightening their act and scoring through Yu Xingyue and Wang Aifang in the 46th and 82nd minutes to seal knockout stage qualification with a match to spare.

With a place in the knockout stage now confirmed, the hosts will battle 2006 champions China PR on Tuesday for the top spot in Group A, while Vietnam will seek a win against Bangladesh to stay in contention.

Nonthaburi: China PR moved into the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ knockout stage with a 2-0 win against Bangladesh in their Group A tie at the Nonthaburi Stadium on Saturday.

It was the 2006 champions second win and they will meet Thailand - who defeated Vietnam 4-1 in the later tie to also confirm qualification - to decide the top spot on Tuesday. Bangladesh, despite suffering consecutive losses, still have a chance of progressing but will have to beat Vietnam in their concluding match.
