Thammasat: Japan underlined their title credentials with a 6-0 defeat of India in Group C of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ on Thursday.

Six-time champions but runners-up in 2024, Japan played delightful football from start to finish to subdue an India side making a comeback to the competition for the first time since 2006.

Group C: Australia 5-0 Chinese Taipei

Pathum Thani: Australia proved too strong for Chinese Taipei as they romped to a 5-0 win in their opening AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ Group C tie on Thursday.

The Young Matildas took control of the match at the Pathum Thani Stadium from the starting whistle as Chinese Taipei offered almost no resistance.

Pathum Thani: DPR Korea signalled their intent to defend their crown by overwhelming Jordan 8-0 in their AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ Group B opener at the Pathum Thani Stadium on Thursday.

The two-time champions, who took a five-goal lead in the first half, put on a masterclass of attacking football as six different players found the back of the net.

Nonthaburi: Despite not getting her name on the scoresheet, China PR owed much of their AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ Group A win against Vietnam on Wednesday to Wang Aifang.

The 20-year-old provided two assists while consistently keeping Vietnam under pressure at the Nonthaburi Stadium.

Sitting at the heart of Colin Bell’s attacking setup, the midfielder carved out chances of her own and, while a goal may have eluded her, Wang was pleased to have played a part in her team’s convincing victory.

Thammasat: Thailand were in desperate need of inspiration and Kurisara Limpawanich was glad that she was able to provide it in their AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ Group A opener on Wednesday.

Down by two goals against tournament debutants Bangladesh, Kurisara sparked a remarkable comeback by converting from the penalty spot in the 69th minute as Thailand roared to a 3-2 victory.
