Thailand 2026 lineup finalised

Kuala Lumpur: The cast for the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup™ Thailand 2026 was finalised following the conclusion of the Qualifiers on Sunday.

Eleven teams - the eight group winners and three best runners-up - will join hosts Thailand at next year's Finals, scheduled for April 1-18.

Bangladesh created history by qualifying for a debut appearance, advancing as one of the three best second-placed sides.

Matchday Three of the Qualifiers was filled with thrills and spills with history created and a long-awaited return to the Finals achieved with the teams now setting their eyes on next April's showdown in Thailand.

Phu Tho: Myanmar moved within touching distance of the ASEAN Women's Championship 2025 semi-finals with a 3-0 win over Timor-Leste in their Group B tie on Sunday.

Australia revived their semi-final hopes with a 1-0 win against defending champions Philippines.

 

The Young Matildas will face Myanmar on Wednesday, with Australia meeting Timor-Leste.

Chicago: Korea Republic star Son Heung-min made his Major League Soccer debut for Los Angeles FC Saturday, providing a burst of energy as a second-half substitute in a 2-2 draw with the Fire in Chicago.

Son was brought down for a penalty in the 77th minute that Denis Bouanga converted to clinch a draw in the 81st minute - VAR confirming the spot-kick after the referee had allowed play to continue.

Itakura moves to Ajax

Amsterdam: Japan defender Ko Itakura has signed for Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam from Germany’s Borussia Monchengladbach, the Eredivisie outfit announced on Saturday.

The 28-year-old centre-half has joined on a four-year deal as he returns to the Netherlands having previously spent two seasons on loan with Groningen from Manchester City.
