Dubai: The 2022-23 season of the UAE Pro League gets underway on Friday with a sense of intrigue and excitement about a competition that has seen three different winners in the past three seasons.
Al Ain recaptured the trophy last year, adding a fifth title since the inception of the Pro League in 2008-09, while Al Jazira were the 2020-21 winners and Sharjah triumphed in 2018-19. The 2019-20 season was halted midway through the campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with no winners announced.
