Amman: Jordan took a giant step towards reaching the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ after defeating Bhutan 3-0 in their Qualifiers Group A tie on Wednesday.

With three wins, Jordan only need to avoid defeat against Islamic Republic of Iran - who are three points behind - when the sides meet in their concluding fixture on Saturday.

Qualifiers - Group A: Lebanon 3-1 IR Iran

Amman: Islamic Republic of Iran’s hopes suffered a setback after falling to a 3-1 defeat against Lebanon in Group A of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Qualifiers on Wednesday.

The result leaves Iran on six points, with Jordan their opponents in Saturday’s final round of matches. The win was Lebanon’s first after having suffered defeat in their earlier two games.

Suwon: Second half goals from Ji So-yun and Jang Sel-gi helped Korea Republic win the 2025 (EAFF) E-1 Football Women’s Championship with a 2-0 victory against Chinese Taipei on Wednesday.

The result saw Korea Republic tied on five points with China PR and Japan but they finished top on better ratio of goals scored in matches between the three sides to secure their first regional success since 2005.
