#WAC2026 - Knockout Stage cast finalised

Sydney: The knockout stage cast of the AFC Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026™ was completed on Tuesday as the group stage came to a thrilling end.

The quarter-finals will be played between Friday and Sunday, with defending champions China PR leading four other former winners into the business end of the continental showpiece.

The two-time winners finished with nine points and will meet the Philippines next while defeat meant Vietnam missed out on a place in the quarter-finals.

Sydney: Chinese Taipei advanced to the quarter-finals of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ after defeating India 3-1 in Group C at the Western Sydney Stadium on Tuesday.

The victory means the East Asians finish in second place behind Japan and will face defending champions China PR in their last eight tie on Saturday.

Her strike - which came in the 88th minute - meant Uzbekistan had the four goals they needed to be assured of advancing as one of the two best third-placed teams with the 28-year-old crediting the team’s strong mentality for meeting their target.

Sydney: Kang Chae-rim played a pivotal role in Korea Republic securing top spot in Group A following a 3-3 stalemate with Australia in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ meeting on Sunday.

The midfielder was one of two half-time changes made by Shin Sang-woo that changed the course of the game with Australia having gone into the break 2-1 ahead.

The 27-year-old’s introduction - together with Kim Shin-ji - proved to be a masterstroke by Shin with the two contributing to put Korea Republic 3-2 in front after only 11 minutes on the pitch.
