A valuable point was earned on Friday after they held FIFA World Cup 2022 semi-finalists Morocco to a goalless draw to keep their faint hopes of a place in the quarter-finals alive.

Lusail: A late goal forced the United Arab Emirates to settle for a 1-1 draw with Egypt in their FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 Group C tie on Saturday.

The stalemate means UAE are level with Kuwait - their opponents on Tuesday - on one point with Egypt one ahead. The African side face already qualified Jordan in their final match.

Doha: Iraq left it late to beat Sudan 2-0 in their Group D tie to advance to the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 knockout stage on Saturday.

Iraq - with two wins - are assured of a top two finish and face Algeria on Tuesday while Sudan - on one point - face Bahrain.

Doha: Bahrain were eliminated after suffering their second defeat in Group D of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025, going down 5-1 to Algeria on Saturday.

Their elimination was confirmed following Iraq's 2-0 defeat of Sudan in the group's later tie.

Doha: Jordan confirmed progress to the knockout stage of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 after securing a 3-1 win against Kuwait in their Group C tie on Saturday.

The win moved Jamal Sellami’s side to six points, guaranteeing them a top two finish regardless of the outcome of the remaining matches in the group.

Al Khor: Saudi Arabia booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 after a commanding 3-1 win against Comoros in their Group B tie on Friday.

The win took Herve Renard’s side up to six points and they are assured of a top two finish - having been eliminated at the group stage four years ago - regardless of the outcome of their final match against Morocco on Monday.

Al Rayyan: Oman had to settle for a goalless draw with 10-man Morocco in their FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 Group B tie at the Education City Stadium on Friday. 

The result left Oman’s knockout stage hopes hanging by a thread and they have to defeat Comoros on Monday to stand a chance of advancing. Morocco, who moved up to four points, will face already qualified Saudi Arabia.

Jordan made a winning start to their campaign with a 2-1 victory over the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday but the Moroccan tactician does not want his players to rest on their laurels despite the opening win.

Doha: Iraq will be aiming to tighten their grip on a spot in the knockout stage of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 when they face Sudan in their Group D tie at Stadium 974 on Saturday.

Graham Arnold’s charges edged Bahrain 2-1 and have a two-point advantage at the summit after Sudan held 2021 champions Algeria to a goalless draw.

Ebrahim Lutfalla’s own goal gave Iraq the momentum to secure an opening day victory with Mohanad Ali doubling their lead in the 25th minute  before Bahrain scored a late consolation through Sayed Hashim.

Doha: Qatar were left staring at elimination after being forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Syria in their FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 Group A tie at the Khalifa International Stadium on Thursday.

The stalemate gave the hosts their first point, with Syria joining Palestine on four. Tunisia - who play Qatar on Sunday - also have a single point to their name.

Doha: Palestine fought back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 stalemate against Tunisia in their FIFA Arab Cup 2025 Group A tie on Thursday.

With four points on the board, Palestine are in a great position to reach the quarter-finals and will look to complete the job against Syria on Sunday.
