2nd AFC Coach Education Special Online Session stresses on the leadership role of coaches
Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) organised the second edition of the AFC Coach Education Special Online Session yesterday to receive updates and exchange ideas to further strengthen the coach education landscape in Asia.
Led by AFC Technical Director Andy Roxburgh, the workshop was attended by about 100 participants representing 35 Member Associations (MAs).
7th AFC Elite Club Coaches Forum 2022 focuses on rising coaching trends
Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) organised the 7th AFC Elite Club Coaches Forum 2022 yesterday which served as a platform for renowned coaches and technical experts to exchange views and discuss the evolving nature of football in modern times.
Chaired by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Technical Director, Andy Roxburgh, the online session was attended by a star-studded cast featuring the likes of FIFA Technical expert Holger Osieck, UEFA Technical Advisor and Celtic FC legend Patrick Bonner, Al Duhail SC head coach and former Argentine national team player, Hernan Crespo, and Leonardo Jardim, who led Al Hilal SFC to their record fourth AFC Champions League title last season.
Zurich: "Anyone can be a coach, but telling someone exactly what they have to do, exactly how to do it and even telling them when to do it, that takes knowledge, experience and education. That’s why it’s very important that we focus on the quality of education."
Those words belong to Arsene Wenger, who knows what he is talking about when it comes to the qualities needed not just to be a coach but to be a good coach. Appointed FIFA Chief of Global Football Development in November 2019, the Frenchman has made high coaching standards one of his priorities.
FFT receives B Level Membership in the AFC Coaching Convention
Kuala Lumpur: The Football Federation of Turkmenistan (FFT) has been awarded with the B Level membership in the AFC Coaching Convention for their efforts to raise the standards of coach education.
Led by renowned instructor Rovshen Muhadov, a former Turkmenistan national team player and head coach, the theory and practical sessions were held over two modules in November and December, 2021. He was supported by assistant instructors Dovlet Annayev and Eziz Annamuhamedov.
Coach educators benefit from latest virtual session
Kuala Lumpur: At least 140 participants joined the latest AFC Coach Education Special Online Session to discuss topics related to coach education while receiving updates on the AFC Coaching Convention and the A-Youth Diploma.
Participants from 41 Member Associations (MAs) also listened to interviews with former Danish FA Head of Coach Education, Peter Rudbaek and AFC Principal Coaching Consultant Wim Koevermans.
Participants gain new insights in AFC Emotions in Football Workshop
Kuala Lumpur: 119 participants from 38 Member Associations (MAs) joined the AFC Emotions in Football Workshop on Tuesday as the Japan Football Association (JFA) and the Qatar Football Association (QFA) presented their comprehensive activities and future action plans.
The JFA and QFA are the first pilot MAs to implement the new AFC’s Emotions in Football Project that was launched last year to study how emotions can affect the performances of players and their personal well-being.
1st AFC Coach Education Panel meeting 2022-2023 successfully convenes
Kuala Lumpur: The 1st AFC Coach Education Panel Meeting for the term 2022-2023 concluded today, with members briefed on new initiatives to further enhance coach education in Asia as well as the progress of the AFC Coaching Convention.
The virtual meeting was chaired by Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Technical Director Andy Roxburgh and attended by 13 Member Association (MA) representatives.
Continuous coaching commitment see Nepal & Mongolia awarded B Level membership
Kuala Lumpur: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and the Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) have become the latest Member Associations (MA) to be awarded B Level membership in the AFC Coaching Convention for their long-term commitment towards improving coach education in their respective countries.
Theory and practical sessions were held via Zoom in Nepal from 26-29 September and in Mongolia from 21-22 September and 5 October. ANFA’s sessions were led by Sanjeet Singh, Head of Coach Education while Coach Education Director Ganzorig Erdene-Ochir and his assistant Garidmagnai Bayasgalan took charge of the MFF.
Coach educators gain insights into Euro 2020 in third virtual session
Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) organised the third Coach Education Special Online Session with participants learning from the comprehensive analysis of selected Euro 2020 matches.
AFC Technical Director Andy Roxburgh opened the session, that was attended by more than 100 participants from 43 Member Associations, by emphasising the importance of a coach’s ability to read the game, which is a fundamental skill to succeed in the profession.
KFU receives A Level AFC Coaching Convention membership
Bishkek: The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) is the latest Member Association (MA) to be awarded the A Level membership in the widely-acclaimed AFC Coaching Convention for their continuous efforts to further improve coach education in the country.
Under the leadership of Technical Director Anarbek Ormombekov, who is also one of the main instructors of the ‘A’ Diploma coaching course, the KFU has established a well-structured technical strategic plan with a strong emphasis on coach education.
