Lao FF becomes latest silver member under AFC Grassroots Charter

Vientiane: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has welcomed the Lao Football Federation (LFF) as the newest Member Association to be recognised at the Silver level of its acclaimed AFC Grassroots Charter.

Inducted at the Bronze level in 2019, the LFF’s application for an upgrade was endorsed following a visit from the AFC Grassroots Panel members last month to the LFF Headquarters in the capital city of Vientiane.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s commitment to expanding the reach of the beautiful game to as many people as possible was reaffirmed when the AFC Grassroots Panel met virtually on Tuesday.

The panel, comprising experts from all five regions of the AFC, convened to evaluate progress, exchange insights and outline plans to further develop grassroots football in Asia.

Macau FA’s AFC Grassroots Charter Bronze Membership renewed

Macau: The Macau Football Association (AFM)’s commitment to grow a lifelong passion for the beautiful game was further underlined today after the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) extended its AFC Grassroots Charter Bronze Membership.

The extension marks the AFM’s second renewal after receiving the acclaimed Bronze Level membership in 2018 before it was renewed in 2021 for a three-year period.

Kuala Lumpur: In the first episode of the Confederation’s “It’s My Game” campaign for 2025, the-AFC.com shines the spotlight on Park Youn-jeong, head coach of Korea Republic’s U20 women’s national team and recipient of the AFC Coach of the Year (Women) award at the AFC Annual Awards Seoul 2023.

Following her career as a centre-back for the likes of WK League sides Seoul WFC and Sejong Sportstoto, as well as Japan’s Albirex Niigata Ladies, Park turned her attention to coaching in 2011, starting with university teams before swiftly rising through the ranks to join the backroom staff of the Korea Republic U17 women’s national team in 2019.

AFC Women’s Football Day 2025 returns for 11th edition

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and its Member Associations (MAs) are set to commemorate the 11th AFC Women’s Football Day with a series of activities aimed at promoting and recognising the continued progress of the women’s game in Asia.

Taking place in conjunction with International Women’s Day, the Confederation’s annual celebration is set to be observed by almost 24,000 participants from 41 MAs.
