Record-breaking 45 MAs commemorate 13th AFC Grassroots Football Day

Kuala Lumpur: A record-breaking 45 Member Associations (MAs) joined the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in celebrating the 13th AFC Grassroots Football Day 2026.

The 2026 edition of the AFC’s annual event once again served as an excellent demonstration of the spirit of grassroots football that the Confederation continues to uphold by encouraging MAs to expand their reach and welcome people from all walks of life to experience the power of the beautiful game.

Tomorrow, we will mark the 13th edition of the AFC Grassroots Football Day, and once again, I am filled with gratitude towards our Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) for the incredible commitment they have demonstrated in expanding the reach of football across the length and breadth of Asia.

Time and again, this annual celebration has reminded us that the true spirit of the beautiful game lies not only in its elite competitions, but also in the countless communities where it is played, shared and passed on every day.

Bangladesh welcomed as latest silver member under AFC Grassroots Charter

Dhaka: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has welcomed the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) as the latest silver level member under the acclaimed AFC Grassroots Charter.

First bestowed with a bronze membership in 2021, the AFC grassroots panel members paid a visit to the BFF headquarters in March and were pleased to see the remarkable strides made in recent years, meriting an upgrade to silver level recognition.

Attended by 17 members, the virtual event laid out the pathways and priorities for the new cycle as part of the AFC’s ongoing mission to establish a firm foundation for the game throughout the Continent in collaboration with its Member Associations (MAs).
