AFC charts grassroots development direction for 2026/27 term

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s commitment to ensure the beautiful game remains the number one sport across the Continent was reinforced today during the first AFC Grassroots Panel meeting for the 2026–2027 term.

Attended by 17 members, the virtual event laid out the pathways and priorities for the new cycle as part of the AFC’s ongoing mission to establish a firm foundation for the game throughout the Continent in collaboration with its Member Associations (MAs).

Damascus: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has welcomed the Syrian Football Association (SFA) as the latest silver level member under the acclaimed AFC Grassroots Charter.

First endorsed with a bronze membership in 2021, the AFC grassroots panel bestowed the silver membership following a virtual assessment which reflected the SFA’s sustained commitment to elevating grassroots football across the nation.

Kuala Lumpur: The 4th AFC Grassroots Football Conference concluded on Thursday, following three days of dynamic knowledge exchange aimed at ushering a new era for grassroots football development across Asia.

Bringing together more than 100 grassroots managers and specialists from across the AFC Member Associations (MAs), the conference also featured the AFC Special Awards ceremony, recognising the remarkable contributions of individuals and academies in advancing grassroots football and youth development on the Continent.
