Munoz’s tinkering pays off for JDT

Iskandar Puteri: The ability of Johor Darul Ta’zim to switch things up was key to their 3-0 success against Port FC in the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27™, according to head coach Xisco Munoz.

Having controlled but without obtaining rewards in the first half, the Spanish tactician made tactical changes for the second half and it paid off handsomely for the Malaysian champions as goals from Jonathan Silva, Bergson and Stoichkov earned them a second League Stage win.

MD3: Ratchaburi FC (THA) 0-0 Kashiwa Reysol (JPN)

Ratchaburi: Ratchaburi FC claimed their first point of the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27™ on Tuesday as the Thai League 1 outfit held Japan’s Kashiwa Reysol to a 0-0 draw at Ratchaburi Stadium.

Worrawoot Srimaka’s side had lost both of their opening matches in the eastern league phase but put on a strong defensive display against a Kashiwa side that rarely showed the creative quality to break through their hosts’ backline.

The result moves Ricardo Rodriguez’s side onto four points from their first three matches after Kashiwa, semi-finalists in the competition in 2013, had bounced back from an opening loss to Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC with a comprehensive win against Port FC last month.
