Sailors’ Takeuchi aims to raise the bar

Melaka: Ami Takeuchi capped her AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 Preliminary Stage debut with a brace to give Lion City Sailors a 2 -0 win over Etihad Club of Jordan on Monday.

The 19-year-old struck twice in the first half to secure the three points for the Singapore side, giving them a perfect start in Group C ahead of their clash with Kelana United of Malaysia on Matchday Two.

Socceroo Marco Tilio signs for Rapid Wein

Vienna: Australia international winger Marco Tilio has joined Rapid Wein from Scottish Premiership side Celtic on a four-year contract, the Austrian club have confirmed.

The 24-year-old has signed for Rapid Wein after spending the last 18 months on loan at Melbourne City, where he played a key role in leading the club to their A-League Championship title win over Melbourne Victory in May.

Melaka: Lion City Sailors of Singapore got off to a fine start by defeating Jordan’s Etihad Club 2-0 in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 Preliminary Stage Group C tie at the Hang Jebat Stadium on Monday.

First half strikes from Ami Takeuchi gave Sailors the three points, setting them up nicely for their tie against Kelana United FC of Malaysia on Matchday Two. 

 

Etihad will look to bounce back against Kyrgyz Republic’s Sdyushor Si – Asiagoal.
