Qualifiers - Group F: Japan 5-0 Guam; IR Iran 3-0 Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: Japan started their AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup™ Thailand 2026 Qualifiers Group F campaign with an emphatic 5-0 win over Guam on Wednesday.

Islamic Republic of Iran joined Japan on three points with a 3-0 win against hosts Malaysia.

#U20WAC Qualifiers: MD1 Results & Reports

Kuala Lumpur: Four former champions led the way as the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup™ Thailand 2026 Qualifiers got off to an emphatic start on Wednesday.

Six-time winners Japan kicked off their Group F campaign with a 5-0 win over Guam while defending champions DPR Korea were unstoppable in a 15-0 triumph against Saudi Arabia in Group A.
 
Korea Republic, champions in 2003 and 2013, defeated Timor-Leste 9-0 while China PR, who lifted the trophy in 2006, opened their Group E challenge with a 6-0 win against Syria.
 
The teams will be back in action on Friday with the eight group winners and the overall three best runners-up to join hosts Thailand at next year's Finals.

Ulsan: AFC Champions League winner Shin Tae-yong has been named the new head coach of Ulsan HD, the reigning K League 1 champions confirmed on Tuesday.
