Dededo: Guam cruised into the next round of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 Preliminary Joint Qualification after beating Bhutan 5-0 in the second leg on Tuesday, advancing 5-1 on aggregate.
Bhutan entered the tie with the advantage of having won last week's first leg 1-0, courtesy of Tshering Dorji's first half strike, but Guam signalled their intent within the first two minutes of the match at the Guam FA Field with Marlon Evans shooting wide from Ian Marino's corner kick.

Thimphu: Tshering Dorji's first half strike was the difference as Bhutan beat Guam 1-0 in the first leg of their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 Preliminary Joint Qualification tie on Thursday.
Cheered on by the vocal 7,000 home crowd, Bhutan did not disappoint the fans after producing a gritty performance which mirrored their heroics when they made global headlines after defeating Sri Lanka in the 2015 Asian Qualifiers.
Their victory at home will give the Dragon Boys a slight edge over Guam as they aim to qualify for the next round for the second time in the country’s history when both sides meet in the return leg on Tuesday at the Guam National Stadium.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation has been informed today by the Macau Football Association that their national team will not travel to Sri Lanka for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 1 second leg match scheduled for Colombo tomorrow.
The AFC will now refer this matter to FIFA and the appropriate AFC committees.
