Amman: Srečko Katanec said it was a case of one point earned rather than two lost after Iraq played to a goalless draw with Bahrain in Group C of the Asian Qualifiers on Tuesday.
The point kept Iraq top of the standings on 11 points, two ahead of Bahrain and five in front of Islamic Republic of Iran going into 2020.
The Iraq head coach said it was, given the circumstances a good result as the West Asians ended 2019 unbeaten in the Asian Qualifiers, having defeated Iran 2-1 on Matchday Five.

Kuala Lumpur: Matchday Six of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 came to a close with Syria and Turkmenistan the big winners on an exciting day of action.
Syria made it five wins from five to seize control of Group A as the West Asians will take a whopping eight-point lead into 2020 after defeating Philippines 1-0.
Turkmenistan will also head into the new year as Group H leaders, with their 1-0 win over Sri Lanka and the Lebanon-DPR Korea tie ending in a goalless stalemate giving the Central Asian side a one-point lead.
The Asian Qualifiers will resume on March 26.

Amman: Iraq and Bahrain played out a 0-0 draw at Amman International Stadium on Matchday Six of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and 2023 AFC Asian Cup China Asian Qualifiers on Tuesday.
Having defeated Islamic Republic of Iran at the same ground on Thursay, Iraq knew a draw would be enough for them to end the year as Group C leaders, while Bahrain needed victory to leap above their hosts.

Hong Kong: Hong Kong sealed their first win in Group H of the Asian Qualifiers on Tuesday as goals from James Ha and Roberto earned Mixu Paatelainen’s side a 2-0 win over 10-man Cambodia.
Ha gave Hong Kong the lead in the 21st minute before Roberto added the second 12 minutes from time after the Cambodians had seen Soeuy Visal sent off for a second bookable offence.
The win moves Hong Kong on to five points, while Cambodia remain rooted to the bottom of the standings with the solitary point they picked up when they drew with Hong Kong the last time the teams met in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 qualifying.

Myanmar followed up Thursday's 4-3 win over Tajikistan with a 1-0 defeat of Mongolia on Tuesday to revive their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 qualifying campaign.
The wins, which followed three consecutive defeats, have to be credited to head coach Antoine Hey, who has steadied the ship after replacing Miodrag Radulovic at the helm last month.
