Saudi Arabia give Mancini vibrant start

Al-Hasa: Roberto Mancini was pleased with his night's work after Saudi Arabia kicked off their bid to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026 with an emphatic win on Thursday. 

The West Asian side were simply too good for Pakistan in their  Preliminary Joint Qualification - Round 2 for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Group G tie at Al Fateh Club Stadium with Mancini saying the West Asian side are on the right track.

Dropped points not a concern for Jordan's Ammoutao

Dushanbe: It was a case of a point gained rather than two lost as far as Jordan head coach Hussein Ammoutao was concerned following their 1-1 draw with Tajikistan on Thursday.

The West Asian side grabbed a share of the points thanks to Yazan Al Naimat's equaliser in the third minute of added time after Shahrom Samiev had opened the scoring for Tajikistan in the 89th minute of their Preliminary Joint Qualification - Round 2 for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Group G tie.
