Pattaya: : Palestine, Kuwait, Oman and Kyrgyz Republic are all set for Group D action at the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 on Friday.

Palestine will meet Kuwait at the Jomtien Beach Arena in Pattaya while 2015 champions Oman will take on Kyrgyz Republic in the group's second match.

Moscow: A valiant Japan had to concede defeat against Russia Football Union (RFU) as the Asian champions fell 5-2 to the hosts in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Russia 2021 final at the Luzhniki Beach Soccer Arena on Sunday.

Japan started strongly but RFU's clinical finishing proved to be the difference as they won the title for the third time. Switzerland finished third after a thrilling 9-7 win over Senegal earlier on Sunday.

Moscow: Following his instrumental display in Japan's 5-2 win over Senegal in the semi-final, Takuya Akaguma is firmly focused on Sunday’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Russia 2021 final against Russian Football Union (RFU) at the Luzhniki Beach Soccer Arena.

Akaguma netted a hat-trick against Senegal to power Japan to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup final for the first time, having never finished higher than fourth before.

The Japanese side will have another go against FRU in a rematch of their Group A encounter which the hosts had won 7-1.

Moscow: Japan turned on the style to defeat Senegal 5-2 in their FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Russia 2021 semi-final at the Luzhniki Beach Soccer Arena on Saturday.

Having fallen at the semi-final stage twice previously, Japan will meet Russian Football Union (RFU) in Sunday’s final in a rematch of their Group A encounter which the hosts had won 6-1.

RFU defeated Switzerland 5-4 on penalties after their semi-final had finished 5-5 earlier on Saturday while Japan are the first Asian team to make the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup final.

Moscow: A party atmosphere reigned at the Luzhniki Beach Soccer Arena in Moscow on Thursday as the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Russia 2021 began with a heady mix of music, colour and surprises. And perhaps the biggest surprise of all was served up by the United Arab Emirates in the tournament’s opening game, as a nation that has never reached the knockout stage in six previous attempts secured a 4-3 victory against two-time runners-up Tahiti.

"We're obviously happy and proud, but I'm not overly surprised by the result," UAE forward Hasan Alhammadi told FIFA.com afterwards. "Tahiti are obviously a good team, but we have nothing to be ashamed of in comparison. Our team has quality, and we'll try to prove that for as long as we can here at this World Cup."

A quick glance at the Beach Soccer Worldwide rankings suggests a UAE win was anything but predictable, despite Alhammadi's confidence. So too the scoreline of the last World Cup meeting between the sides, a 3-2 success for Tahiti at the 2013 edition. Indeed, their Moscow reunion looked to be heading for a similar conclusion when the Tiki Toa made the more purposeful start.

Moscow: Both Japan and the United Arab Emirates had to come from behind to register wins in their FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Russia 2021 openers on Thursday.

Japan amazingly fought back from 3-0 down to defeat Paraguay 7-4 while UAE squeezed a 4-3 win in extra time over Tahiti at the Luzhniki Beach Soccer Stadium.

The opening wins boost both teams hopes of advancing to the knockout stage with Japan to play the United States next in Group A on Saturday while UAE will face Mozambique in Group B.
