Dushanbe: Tajikistan made a winning start to their FIFA World Cup Qatar and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Asian Qualifiers Group F campaign, defeating neighbours Kyrgyz Republic 1-0 at the Republican Central Stadium on Thursday.
After taking just one point from eight matches at the same stage of qualifying four years ago, Usmon Toshev’s side got the resulted play merited thanks to an Alisher Dzhalilov strike just before half-time
Their win creates an unlikely top of the table clash against Mongolia on Tuesday, while a misfiring Kyrgyz Republic have until October 10 to iron out their problems ahead of their next match against Myanmar.

Kuala Lumpur: Matchday 1 of the second round of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 saw 16 matches being played across the Continent on Thursday.
It was a day of high quality action as 32 of the 40 teams involved in this phase of the Asian Qualifiers got their campaigns underway.
The teams now have a four-day break before Matchday 2 on Tuesday, which will see Australia, China PR, Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Korea Republic and Saudi Arabia kicking off their campaigns.

After opening the scoring through Orazsahedov, Turkmenistan went on to ensure all three points at the Colombo Racecourse Ground when Amanov fired home after the break to hand Ante Mise’s charges the ideal start to their latest bid for international success.
The result leaves Turkmenistan occupying second place in the group standings following DPR Korea’s 2-0 win over Lebanon earlier in the day.
